2022 Conference Program

After canceling the 2021 Conference due to COVID, School of the Ozarks and The Classical Thistle were excited to once again join together on March 4-5, 2022, to host our annual Classical Christian Education Conference. Our conference explores the practical aspects of teaching classically within today’s classrooms.  Through practical workshops that include ideas and tips from seasoned classical educators and that allow time for Q&A and discussion, this conference aims to equip teachers with tools to apply immediately in their classrooms. The conference is designed around three plenary lectures and over 35 workshops spread out over six breakout sessions. This year we added sample lessons as part of our workshop offerings so attendees can see classical education in action. Video of the breakout sessions and audio of the plenary sessions are available here at no cost! Although we aim to provide audio and video resources of this and future conferences, nothing can replace the great interaction with other classical Christian educators available at the conference, so we hope you can join us on March 3-4, 2023 for our next conference.

This year, we welcomed Kevin Clark, founder and President of The Ecclesial Schools Initiative, Inc. and co-author or The Liberal Arts Tradition, who will be delivering two plenary lectures and a pre-conference workshop, which all registered attendees are welcome to attend at no additional cost.

We also welcomed Cheryl Swope, author of Simply Classical and creator of the Simply Classical Curriculum, both designed to help parents and educators classically educate all students, even those with disabilities. Cheryl will be presenting four workshops, two focused on teaching struggling students and/or those with special needs, one for administrators, and a Q&A session.

A big thank you is due to our other 20+ workshop speakers for their excellent presentations and fantastic contribution to our conference. If you would like to be one of those speakers next year, please fill out the workshop proposal form.
