School of the Ozarks and The Classical Thistle will once again join together on March 6-7, 2020, to host our annual Classical Christian Education Conference. Our conference explores the practical aspects of teaching classically within today’s classrooms. Through practical workshops that include ideas and tips from seasoned classical educators and that allow time for Q&A and discussion, this conference aims to equip teachers with practical tools to use right away. The conference is designed around two plenary lectures and nearly 50 workshops spread out over seven breakout sessions. Video of the breakout sessions and audio of the plenary sessions will be available in the weeks following the conference and can be accessed at no cost! Although we aim to provide audio and video resources of this and future conferences, nothing can replace the great interaction with other classical Christian educators available at the conference.
Pre-Conference Program
Also, this year, on March 5th, beginning at 6:00 P.M., we will be hosting a lecture series entitled “The History and Purpose of Classical Christian Education.” These informative lectures will be geared towards Classical Christian educators who are young in their understanding of classical education, do not have a grasp on the history of this educational movement and its purposes, or lack confidence in the teaching pedagogy that it entails. Dr. Kyle Rapinchuk and Mrs. Jenni Carey from School of the Ozarks will be the presenters and are sure to aid any who attend in a more in-depth knowledge of classical education.

Seminar Track
Whether you want to improve your grasp of the Great Books, learn more about a book you teach in class, or simply enjoy a good conversation about books, the seminar track is designed as a more in-depth study and conversation of a specific book. We highly recommend that you read these works in advance to get the most out of these sessions.
